Rosmarin (rosemary, a herb) features hand-painted flowers, leaves and stripes in a beautifully warm reddish brown tone. The highlight of this design is the artful and calligraphic brush-strokes, which have required extreme skill. Arabia was indeed much admired for the talent of its ceramic painters. The hand-painted nature of the pattern makes each dish excitingly unique and the colours shift in tone from pale watercolour washes to deep and luxurious tones. This change in colours give the simple design an exciting illusion of three-dimensionality and depth. This Nordic vintage design and decoration were both made by the same artist, Ulla Procopé. The decoration was also made in blue under the name Anemone. A side plate, dessert plate, bread plate or a plate for cake or sweet buns. This plate forms a set with a coffee cup. A celebratory Finnish coffee setting includes a coffee cup, saucer, cake plate with a spoon and a serviette for every guest. This plate also functions as a bread plate at the dinner table. There is no stamp on the product. It is original production, but it was classified as class 2 quality at the factory and not stamped, because of small flaws made in production. It is still usable for any table setting. These lovely side plates have some small imperfections. There are for example some dark dots and inaccuracy of the pattern.
